WHAT WE DO
Free mobile showers, wherever our neighbors are.
A mobile shower allows us flexibility to be where our homeless neighbors gather to eat or to receive other services.
Full, Private Bathrooms
Each one equipped with its own sink, toilet, and shower, stocked with dispensers of biodegradable soap and shampoo.
Everything Supplied
Clean towels, washcloths, toothbrushes and toiletries, plus socks, t-shirts, and underwear for anyone who needs them.
Powered by Donations
Every person on staff donates their time, so donations go directly toward showers — and dignity — for the community.
Programs and projects supported by the City of San Luis Obispo funds are open and accessible to all otherwise qualified members of the public and without regard to race, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, or disability.
HOW WE'RE FUNDED
A volunteer-run program, funded by the community
Shower the People depends on donations from individual community members, as well as donations and grants from local organizations. As an entirely volunteer-run program, those investments go directly to sustaining the important and meaningful work of providing showers — and dignity — for homeless community members.

Our staff are all unpaid volunteers, and we are a nongovernmental organization that relies on the generosity of our community. You can make a big difference by donating, volunteering, and by sharing our mission.
